School Self-Evaluation (SSE) and School Improvement Plan 2025–2028

At Holy Family Senior School, we are committed to continually improving teaching and learning through a process of School Self-Evaluation (SSE). During the 2025–2026 school year, we undertook a comprehensive review of teaching and learning in Mathematics.

This process involved gathering and analysing evidence from pupils, parents and staff, alongside assessment data and classroom practice. The review highlighted many strengths across the school, including high levels of pupil achievement, positive attitudes towards Mathematics, effective teaching practices, and strong collaboration among staff.

Following consultation and analysis, we identified three key areas for development:

• Improving pupils’ problem-solving skills across all strands of Mathematics

• Strengthening mathematical language and procedural fluency

• Increasing opportunities for active and collaborative learning in Mathematics

Our School Improvement Plan outlines the actions we will take from 2026–2028 to support these priorities and ensure the best possible learning experiences and outcomes for all pupils.

We value the important role parents play in supporting children’s mathematical development and have included a range of helpful resources below to support numeracy learning at home.
